Hanging with Hilger

Change can be difficult but sometimes it's for the best.

If you have not already heard, I have made the decision to not return next school year. I want to thank you for allowing me to get to know your children.

Mrs. Hilger

I have been giving updates on the new graduation requirements. Last week, I mentioned PE and Health.

The state is requiring that PE and Health be separate classes. This means one semester PE will be taught and one semester Health will be taught.

KSDE allows some courses to be taught in 8th grade year as high school credit.

The freshman class next year has only 4 students. That makes having PE and Health a challenge. To help in this matter and to give an opportunity for students to get ahead on some of their credits, we are going to offer 8th graders an option to take PE/Health next year. In the future this provides more elective opportunities for those students.

Did you know?

In July, there was a new national suicide and crisis hotline people can call? Before you would have to recall a phone number to call. Here you recall three numbers. This works for call or text and a mental health counselor will be available to assist.
