Coach Trowbridge is a 2003 graduate of LHS, where she was recruited in all three sports she participated in out of high school. She attended Jackson State University (Jackson, MS) as a member of the dance team and walk-on to the volleyball team. Trowbridge earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Services and Masters degree in Social Work at Washburn University, and currently works as a Licensed Social Worker in the school district.
Trowbridge enters her first year as Head Coach of the Lawrence High Track and Field program, but is no stranger to coaching as she has been a member of the LHS Track staff since 2007 coaching sprinters, hurdlers, and relays. In addition to coaching track, she coached Girls Basketball and Volleyball for many years at LHS, and founded and continues to lead the UNITY Step Team.
Coach "Trow" has coached multiple individual state champions and record breakers, but she is most proud to walk into the gym and see four of the TEAMS she’s coached listed on STATE CHAMPIONSHIP banners.
While having the dream jobs of being a coach and social worker, she is a wife (Tyler), a mother of three (Truth, Loyal and Valor), a maker of all the things (crafts!), and a fan of all things candy (facts!)
Coach Dye has served as an Assistant Track Coach since the 2010 season, coaching the Long and Triple Jump events.
Before coaching, Coach Dye was a three sport athlete at Field Kindley Memorial High School (Coffeyville, KS). After high school, he played football and ran track at the JUCO level (Independence and Coffeyville), competing in the Decathlon during track season.
In addition to coaching track, he is an Interrelated Resource Teacher and the 8th grade Boys Basketball coach at Southwest Middle School.
Coach Shields is a 2015 graduate of Lawrence High School. He specialized in track, football, and basketball during his time. Logan later attended Cloud County Community College, Park University, and Ottawa University where he competed in the high, triple and long jump (he was a National qualifier at all three events). A few of Logan's hobbies include: playing video games and hanging out with his two cats (Zuko & Winston).
After his stint as an athlete, Coach Shields went on to coach jumps at Liberty Memorial Central Middle School for a year before coming to LHS. He currently works as a para for USD497 and has been working at LHS this year.
Coach Morgison is the the Distance coach in Track & Field as well as the head Cross Country coach at LHS. He attended LHS for high school and ran competitively for the Cross Country and Track teams. Coach Morgison was fortunate enough to be a part of the 2006 Track & Field State championship team where he learned the feeling standing at the top of the podium and hoisting a trophy above his head.
He later ran two years at JCCC and has continued running ever since. His goal is to take an athlete, help them realize their potential, and then give them the space to build their confidence and aspirations for something greater than they thought they could have achieved otherwise. "We are all given wings [to run] when we are born, but it is through the trials and errors that we earn our feathers to fly." Every runner who comes to me will leave better than they started - ready for challenges beyond track and cross country.
