Please check out all of our team members and a bit about why they wanted to join Indian Ink!

I chose to join Indian Ink because I thought it would be a good opportunity to put my accounting skills to the test and also learn new things. When I joined Indian Ink, I learned how to press shirts, create designs, take inventory, and order supplies. My specialty within Indian Ink is the accountant. I take care of how much money goes in and out of the business and how much we profit. What I enjoy about Indian Ink is that it is a student-run business. I am a hands-on learner so it was important that I was able to figure most of the things out with some guidance. Plus it gives me the opportunity to be responsible and make due dates when they are put in place.

I chose to go into Indian ink because I wanted to expand on what I know. I thought learning how to do multiple tasks within a business would be beneficial to me. Personally, I like to stay on the design part of the process, but of course, I will try to pick up where I can when it is needed. I have a strong passion for art and I like to experiment with different mediums, so digital design work is great one try. I enjoy Indian Ink because it is a great opportunity to work with people overall. It allows students to learn about business in a controlled environment, which I quite enjoy.

I wanted to learn more about how a business is operated and thought it would be a creative and fun opportunity. My specialty is making designs in transfer express. Some of my hobbies include drawing and designing. I may not be the best at it always but I love expressing myself through art and being able to help put that in the business through transfers is fulfilling. I like our dynamic and how everybody works together to get projects done. For our first year, I would say everyone has got along nicely and helped each other out.

Hello, my name is Reese I am a senior here at Larned High School. I am so glad I get to be a part of the start of this new student-run business. I chose Indian Ink because in the future I want to have my own business, and I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to get my feet wet in the business world. In Indian Ink, I spend my time pressing, organizing, and creating designs. I enjoy this class because this is a real business and this is closest to what I want in the future. I'm so excited to see how far this business goes!

Indian Ink was a class that I had talked to Mrs. Stahlecker about for a couple of years, so when I found out that the class got approved I jumped at the chance to join! Although I do a little bit of everything, I really enjoy the marketing side of the business! I really enjoy the fact that I can create new and fun designs for everyone in the community at a reasonable price!

We were both dreaming of the things we would like to see happen at LHS. We had seen several other schools implement a small school apparel business. With many hours of professional development and learning from other schools, we started forming a plan. We wanted to give students a real-life experience of running a business and Indian Ink does just that. Our plan is for students to create their own designs on apparel and market them to customers while also learning the business side of being an entrepreneur.Â
