TERMINOLOGY:
CLUSTER: A group of jobs and industries that are related by skills or products. Within each semester, there are "pathways" that correspond to a collection of courses and training opportunities to prepare students for a chosen career.
Pathway: Defined sequence of courses for field of study that prepares a student for college or career.
CTE Participant: A student who has earned (.5) but less than two secondary level credits in a single career and technical education (CTE) pathway.
CTE Concentrator: A student who has earned two or more secondary level credits in a single CTE pathway, with those credits within any combination of two level AND has met at least 70% proficiency on the technical skills across those 2.0 credits through several technical skill measures (avg % letter grades OR passing an end-of-course assessments or projects OR avg % on competency profiles, etc.).
CTE Completer: A student who has completed a minimum of three secondary level credits in a single CTE pathway, with at least two of those credits being a combination of technical and application level courses, and earning an industry recognized, comprehensive certification or passing a third-party, end-of-Pathway assessment.
