We love to celebrate birthdays in 1st grade! You are welcome to come into our classroom during our snack time at 1:05pm to celebrate your student. You may bring in treats for the students if you'd like. Email me for more details.
The best way to contact me is by email. I check my email throughout the day and can usually respond quickly.

Parents: I send parent emails weekly with information that you need to know for the upcoming week. It can also include any reminders for activities and fun things we are doing in the classroom ! So please make sure I have the best email for parents who will want to be receiving the email otherwise I will use the emails from powerschool.
Classroom Management
I use secret student in my classroom to manage classroom behavior. I will pick one student in the morning to be my "secret student" (the students don't know who the secret student is for the day). I will be watching the student to see if they are following directions, participating, completing activities, and going above and beyond expectations. If the secret student has met the expectations for the day, then they will earn a prize at the end of the day when I reveal who my secret student was. Students will never know if they are the secret student that day, so they will need to continue to work hard and meet expectations everyday!
I also use "donuts" as a whole class incentive. The whole class has to work together to earn a donut. When the class has earned 20 donuts they will receive a party. Some examples are extra recess, cookie party, board games, etc.
