Hello! My name is Melissa Evans, and I’m so excited to welcome you to 2nd grade! This year is extra special for me because, after eight wonderful years teaching 3rd grade, I’m beginning a brand-new adventure—my first year teaching 2nd grade! I can’t wait to learn, grow, and make lots of wonderful memories together.

I’m originally from Connecticut, but I’ve called Sedgwick home for the past nine years, and I absolutely love it here! The students, families, and community make this such a special place to teach and grow.

I live just outside Bentley with my husband, Brannen, and our five daughters—Madyson (19), Ava (17), Kayla (15), Myah (12), and Savana (10). Our house is always full of life! We have two dogs, Nova and Milo, our cat, Momo, and our guinea pig, KG.

🐾 There’s another exciting addition to our classroom this year—Milo! Milo is my therapy dog, and he will be spending his days with us full time this year! I’m so excited for him to be part of our classroom family and share lots of learning, smiles, and special moments with us.

When I’m not at school, you can usually find my family and me spending time together, enjoying the outdoors, and making memories.

I’m looking forward to an amazing year filled with learning, laughter, kindness, growth, and fun! I’m so excited to begin this new 2nd-grade adventure with you!
