I am so excited to be your teacher this year and can't wait to see all the wonderful things we will learn.
This will be my 34th year in education. After graduating from KSU, I taught 4th, 5th, 1st and 2nd grades in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2005, we moved to Newton and I have been teaching at R.L. Wright ever since. I have my masters in education from Emporia State.
When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys. We enjoy outdoor activities and love spending time with family and friends. Our oldest will be a senior at the Air Force Academy. Our youngest is gray shirting for the Air Force this year and will attend in 2026 and wrestle for the Academy.
Things to Note:
Bus and walker exist through the front doors, car riders will be in the back, see school newsletter for new procedure for car riders
Please remember to send PE shoes with your student. Shoes do not need to be new, just free of rocks and dirt.
Please contact me before sending birthday treats. I want to make the day special for your child but we don't always have extra time build into our schedule.
You are welcome to join your child for lunch, please check in the office before going to the lunchroom
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Many times students will share concerns at home but not at school.
We will not have assigned homework this year, however, any classwork (not tests) that they would like to correct and return for a better grade may be worked on at home then handed back in.
