The Class

Intro to Media is a 7-week course designed to introduce students to the concepts of news, news writing, photography, and design. Briefly, the course consists of instruction in:

• the 5Ws+H of the news

• the structure of news writing (lead, background, body, ending)

• how to write a caption

• the history of photography

• basic camera usage

• the basics of design

• design using Canva

• keyboarding
