ARRIVAL
Students should arrive no earlier than 7:20 am if eating breakfast, or 7:35 am if not eating breakfast.
Breakfast is served from 7:20 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
Students who do not eat breakfast will come in the West main door at 7:35, or after, and go to the gym first.
First bell at 7:50 a.m.
Tardy Bell at 8:00 a.m.
Students arriving after the tardy bell will be counted tardy and need to check in at the office.
ABSENCES
Parents/Guardians are to notify the school office before 8:30 a.m. when their child is ill. Report Absence using the SchoolMessenger-Safe Arrival

Most convenient option! Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger Home app* from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at home.schoolmessenger.com). The first time you use the app, select "Sign Up" to create your account. When creating an account, please use the same email address from your guardian information in Skyward. To report an absence, select Attendance, then Report an Absence. *This is the same app we use for school communication!
Use the SafeArrival website, home.schoolmessenger.com. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. If you already have a SchoolMessenger account, log in to access Attendance. Select Attendance, then Report an Absence.
Call the toll-free number 1-833-411-0038 to report an absence using the automated phone system.
These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.

6th Grade- Lunch 12:00-12:20/Recess 12:20-12:40
DISMISSAL
All students are dismissed at 3:25 p.m.
TRAFFIC PROCEDURES
USD 428 and the Great Bend Police Department would like to inform you of safety procedures to be used when dropping off or picking up students from Eisenhower Elementary.
Drivers may want to use the parking stalls west of Eisenhower.
In accordance with Kansas Standard Traffic Ordinances, students need to be using crosswalks to get across the street.
Drivers are not permitted to stop in front of the building on Garfield Street for pick up/drop off.
The bus lane is for busses and handicapped permitted vehicles only.
Drivers should drop off students on the north side of the building on Lakin Street.
Drivers can park on the north, west, and south sides of Eisenhower Park to pick up/drop off students.
Drivers are not permitted to stop, stand, or park on street where the curb is yellow or blocking any private driveway.
All other traffic ordinances will be enforced by law enforcement including: speeding (the speed limit is 20 miles per hour from 7:30am to 8:00am and 3:00pm to 3:30pm), U-turns, failure to use signals, illegal stopping, illegal parking, impeding traffic, jaywalking, etc.
Traffic tends to be congested during arrival and dismissal times. In order to ensure the safety of our students, please be aware of your surroundings!
