April 2021

Principal's Note:

We made it to April! Last year at this time we were scrambling to find ways to offer continuous learning to students in an unprecedented national pandemic. Over the course of this very challenging year there have been countless obstacles that we have all encountered. With all of these changes, the high level of dedication and quality of our schools remains the same. April is one of the busiest months with end of the year activities and I'm so thankful our students are able to experience them and they won't be taken for granted!

Staff Spotlight

Greetings!

My name is Stan Ewy. I am finishing my 32nd year of teaching. I teach PK-5 Physical Education and serve as the JH/HS Athletic Director at Otis-Bison. I also coach HS Cross Country, assist with HS Girls and JH Boys Basketball and JH Track. In addition I help

teach summer driver education and serve as a council member for the town of Albert.

I have a Bachelor of Science in physical education from Fort Hays State University and a Master of Science in Counseling also from FHSU. In addition, I’ve obtained my PK-12 building leadership license from the home of the Tigers!

I am married to the kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ewy. I have a son Spencer who will graduate this spring from Kansas State (something his dad wasn’t able to do), and a daughter, Sheridan who will graduate from Barton County Community College.

My other job consists of being a Synodical Authorized Minister at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis.

I like to read, listen to music, work out occasionally (when I have time) and be with my

family which also includes several cats.

Go Cougars!
