Directions to set up Google Classroom

1. Open your internet browser first. Google Chrome works more smoothly and is a free download from Google, but any browser will work.

2. Go to www.google.com to begin.

3. At the top right of the webpage, click the blue Sign In box.

4. Your student's school Google account username follows this template: firstname.lastname.2029@usd394.com

First names are legal first names, not nicknames they go by. Hyphenated last names must include the hyphen. No caps needed.

5. Your student's password is the 4-digit password they use in computer lab classes entered twice.

Example: If their password is 1234, then their Google password is 12341234.

If your student does not remember their 4 digit password, contact me and I will get that info. to you. Write it down and stick it on the fridge for easy reference. Passwords are easy to forget.

6. Once logged in, you will see a group of 3 x 3 squares in the top right corner of the webpage. Click on those and a drop down menu of Google apps will appear. Choose the Google Classroom icon and click on it. It looks like a green chalkboard with a white silhouette of a person in the middle.

7. In the top right hand corner, there should be a plus sign. Click the plus sign and select Join Class and use the class code 4hybfr7.

8. At this point, you should be all set to go. If you have any questions you can email me or send a message on remind.
