About me

I have been teaching at Andover Middle School since 1997. I started my teaching career in 1992 with the Derby school district. I received my bachelor's degree in education from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1991 and then obtained my master's degree in curriculum and instruction, with a focus on middle school science, from Wichita State University in 1997.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy concerts, sporting events, the theater, playing tennis, going on walks, and spending time with my wife of 38 years, Laurie, and our Morkie, Thor.  I am the dad to two great kids. My daughter, Bethany, is 30 and my son, John (Jay) IV is 24.
