HTML is short for hyper text markup language and is the language for documents that are made for websites usually. It is sets of codes that use tags to tell the program what to do and is mainly used to make websites and design them. You can personalize websites by making different codes to tell the program what to make the website do.
Some examples of html codes are codes that change writing in websites, one is <br> or break and it is kind of like the tab key and separates writing. Another is <title> it is used whenever you are writing the title and describes it. The last is <body> and it is used whenever you are writing the body or the main part usually of text.
Some other examples of html codes are <head> which is usually the first section of code that you write. <h1>, <h2>, <h3> and so on are different levels of headings and their size. There is also <a> and <a/> when you make a link you use these to show when the link starts and ends.
