This year, the Holcomb High School Forensics team competed in tournaments in a new way. Due to COVID 19, competitions were held online mostly over Zoom. Instead of traveling to area schools to compete, members of the team came up to the high school and performed in front of their computers for the judges. State competition will also be held this way. Members of the team competed at several tournaments and had quite a bit of success. On May 1st, three members of the forensics team participated in the state competition. This year due to COVID-19, our tournaments were held online via Zoom or other similar platforms. Ethan Rouse competed in Informative speaking at the State Championship ending up placing 14th out over 20 entries in the entire 3A classification! Rylie Thyne and Jensyn Kennedy competed in the State Festival competition and received one ratings on their performances! A one is the highest rating that can be earned. Rylie competed in Prose and Poetry and Jensyn competed in Poetry. Other members of our team competed in regular season tournaments and did a great job. These members include: Kendall Brungardt (qualified for Festival but was unable to attend), Sara See and Chance Eikenberry.
