Sharing Our History One Story at a Time
The Belle Plaine High School Journalism team is the creative force behind the Dragons’ digital presence. From designing and maintaining this website to managing school-wide social media, these students keep our community informed, connected, and inspired. Each year, they produce The Flame yearbook, an award-worthy collection that captures the heart of BPHS. But their impact goes far beyond the pages of the yearbook. The team photographs every major event, creates professional-level graphics, designs locker favors for every athlete and activity participant, and takes on countless creative projects throughout the year. The Journalism team truly embodies Dragon pride, showcasing the best of Belle Plaine through storytelling, design, and innovation.
Our Journalism Team operates through the Media Design & Communications CTE Pathway, and includes courses such as Journalism & Media Communications, Digital Media Technology, Digital Media & Production, and Advanced Digital Media & Production. Through this pathway, students lead and produce a wide range of authentic projects in our school, gaining career-ready skills in communication, branding, content creation, leadership, and project management. Journalism prepares Dragons for opportunities beyond high school in media, marketing, and digital communications.

🔥"We liked how easy it was to navigate and access the links and pages. The Athletics page in our opinion was the best."
🔥 "Okay, I literally love the FIRE FEED! I’m so glad we are finally doing more for our school. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
🔥 "To the BPHS students who have gone out of their way to make the Fire Feed logos and to take pictures for the website, I really appreciate the time and effort you have put into it. It makes the students feel noticed and appreciated when they are on task and when they see that their efforts are being shared with everyone to see. The website looks excellent; the format and buttons, and scrolling features on it are really easy to use, and they aren't in weird spots on the site, making it look really clean and appealing to the eyes. It's easy to navigate the site while also being informative and not distracting. We students can find sporting schedules and the yearbooks all on it, while also seeing the info for Red Ribbon Week, so you don't have to make printouts and waste paper, unlike the web jungle, the BPHS home site is."
🔥 "It's probably the best page from BPHS."
🔥 "This is a peak Plaine High School webpage better than the other one shoutout to the journalism team and the people who created the website."
🔥 "I think it look really good. I also like how its super organized so that you can find what your looking for and I love all the details."
🔥 "Absolutely obsessed with the Fire Feed design and how it was incorporated in multiple areas of the page."
🔥 "I think the layout and design of the website is very well done, but it needs to be kept up to date and updated consistently."
🔥 "I love it, guys. Did a great job with the vibe, and it feels very professional. I love things like this, and I'm happy you guys took it upon yourselves to bring one of these sights to Belle Plaine. Great work!"
