Since the passage of the Sanity Code, the NCAA has severely restricted the payment of it's own athletes. These restrictions, combined with long practice and training times, lead many collegiate athletes to poverty. Poverty created by sport participation is felt by many struggling athletes that can not afford to pay for basic needs while the foundation they play for profits from their skills. The blatant exploitation of athletes threatens many students continuing their education and athletic career. This threat may prevent students from succeeding in their sport, simultaneously threatening the future of collegiate sports as well. Players need paid for their skills, as a matter of both moral-right and wellbeing for the hard-working students.
It is very clear to see why it is critical that collegiate athletes get paid for their skills. Student-athletes generate many university profits that would be lost without them. This profit generation sacrifices players' time and health to provide entertainment for others. College athletes deserve more compensation for their efforts and countless hours put into training and paying them is a way to accomplish this. Paying players would not only award them for their skills, but also provide them with an income in order to afford necessities and leisure. https://online.maryville.edu/blog/should-college-athletes-be-paid/
