My "WHY"

Two years ago we were challenged to discover our "WHY"...why it is we do what we do. For me this was easy...love. I've had people tell me, "Mindy, you just love everyone." They're right. I may not agree with someone, or someone may not be my "cup of tea," but I do love them. Many of my students assume that because they cause issues in my classroom, because they misbehave, don't try very hard, or just don't understand, that I don't like or love them. Not true. If I didn't like every student, or got angry over every student that fell into that category, I would be a very grouchy person. Nope. I still love them. I can separated their behavior from the person. That's when I turn to wonder. I turn to wonder what's causing their behavior, and what can I do to make a difference for the better? That's my WHY. I want to give others what I mostly lacked growing up. That's why I do what I do.
