This is my 26th year working in education, but it will be my first year working with high school students. I have been a 2nd grade teacher, instructional coach, elementary school principal, and most recently assistant superintendent and virtual school director.
I attended Southwestern College in Winfield, KS, and I was fortunate enough to play volleyball, basketball, and track while pursuing a degree in elementary education. I now enjoy watching my own kids play sports, and I still manage to work out and play the occasional game of pickleball or round of golf in my free time.
I am excited to take on a new role as a counselor and work directly with students again, some of whom I taught at Nickerson Elementary School!
Hello! I'm excited to be entering my fourth year as the Student Services & Career Coordinator at Nickerson High School and Central State Academy. I love helping students discover opportunities, explore career pathways, and build plans that prepare them for success after high school.
My husband, Jordan, and I live in Hutchinson, and our son, Bronson, is beginning his junior year at Wichita State University, where he is majoring in Sports Management. I attended both Hutchinson Community College and Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina, where I had the opportunity to play collegiate softball. While my degree is in Graphic Design, my passion has always been working with students and helping them navigate important educational and career decisions. Graphic design remains one of my favorite creative hobbies in my free time.
Before joining Nickerson High School, I spent 11 years at Hutchinson Community College in a variety of roles, including Admissions, Athletics, Allied Health, and Outreach. I look forward to partnering with students and families and helping make each student's high school experience meaningful, successful, and focused on their future.
