¡Hola! A little bit about me! This is my 7th year of service at NHS. I taught Spanish for 3 years and then transitioned as a counselor at NHS. This is my third year as a school counselor and I am happy that I can continue to help students even if it's not in the classroom setting.
I was born in Honduras but grew up in Northern California. After high school, I attended Sterling College and earned my BA in Graphic Design. I continued my education and earned my MA in Counseling Psychology at the University of the Pacific and later earned my Teaching Certification. With that said I love art and I love helping students! My hope while at NHS is to always make a lasting impact on students, whether it's navigating emotions, school, or their personal life.
Student Services & Career Coordinator
Hello! I am excited to be in my third year as the Student Services & Career Coordinator at Nickerson HS! I live in South Hutchinson with my husband, Jordan, and stepson, Bronson. Bronson is a Sophomore at HutchCC and works in the HutchCC Athletics department.
I attended both Hutchinson Community College and Newberry College in Newberry, SC, where I played softball for both colleges. My degree is in graphic design, which is one of my favorite hobbies in my free time! I've traveled to 13 different cities to take in MLB games...my goal is to see games in all 30 MLB stadiums in the next 10-15 years!
What did I do before NHS? I worked at Hutchinson Community College for 11 years in several areas, including Admissions, Athletics, Allied Health, and Outreach. I worked directly with Reno County HS students, which drove me to want to work at the high school level to help students make college & career choices that best fit them.
