In this section I will be discussing the positives and negatives of watching the Play.

Watching a play of the story is better than reading it because it allowed me to see the setting as well, it allows you to understand the characters further because you can see the emotion in their faces. Another thing is you can see the characters' motions and movement which translates into where they are and their positions as well as the emotion behind their words. Now, the disadvantages. You cannot fully understand what the directors and the people wanted for the play unless you were to read the stage directions because you cannot fully understand the mannerisms that the directors intended while writing it as you would with a script. It could not include as much detail for it has a time constraint. Overall, the play was better because it allows for more accessibility and more emotion behind it.

In this section I will be discussing the positives and negatives of reading the text.

Reading the story is better than watching because it allows the viewer to have more time to comprehend as you are not constrained by how fast people are talking. You can go back and see what the people say and understand the text. Another good thing about reading it is you can fully digest and understand the stage directions and realize every little mannerism as the director intended. Whereas if you are watching you can only understand what you realize. One last thing that is better is you can visualize the play and make it make more sense in your head than in the play. Some drawbacks of the text is that you are not able to fully visualize it while if you were watching the play you could just simply watch it and see it while digesting the audio with the video, another negative would be that you cannot fully understand the way some characters would be speaking, while if a person were speaking apathetically you would not be able to imagine it as well as the play would show. Some things that were missing from the text is that the story could have included things like emotions, and a better description of how the characters were moving like how it does in the actual Play. Somethings that it could not include were things like the exact position and volume in which the people spoke, these are the reasons why reading the story is better than watching it.

Final Evaluation

While the text is a wonderful way to analyze the story and it allows you to analyze and take more time to comprehend the story, the Play is the best way to fully understand the concepts and idea’s while it delivers nice info about the characters, mannerisms, and emotion, behind the characters. While the text has positives, the text is ultimately better.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the play by GR

There are a lot of advantages to seeing the play rather than reading the text version. There are a lot of advantages but there are also disadvantages. One good thing about the play version is that you can see it happen and hear what it might sound like. It made you feel like you were there, and it helped you understand what it could have been like. You can also tell if it is a new scene because the lights go out and the currents begin to descend. The disadvantage that the play had is that they did not have the exact words used in the text. It would also get people bored and not want to watch, which would make them fall asleep. It could not include the exact details because it is a play, and everything cannot be in a play. There are a lot of advantages to the play version rather than having to look on at a book.

In the text versions there are advantages to reading it and disadvantages. One good thing about reading the text is that you get to learn more words and be able to right them if you need them. The text version also helps reform my knowledge and further expand your brain smarts.

The text version also gave us detailed descriptions of the characters in the text version. One disadvantage of reading the text is that you don’t know what they looked like with your own two eyes. Another disadvantage is that we did not know if they were sad or mad unless it has it in the text. In the text version there is advantages and disadvantages to reading it over watching it.

I think the text version is better. The reason I like the text is because reading is very helpful to the mind and the body. Also, in the text it has very detailed scenes and tells us exactly what is happening. Others might say it is boring and less fun to read the story, but I digress, reading helps you focus more, learn more words, helps you follow along and it is easier for someone to follow along if they have trouble staying with the video. I think the text version is better because it is easier to follow along and helps you a lot. The text provides detailed descriptions of the characters. The text also helped me learn new words I did not know. The play version is boring and hard to follow along to and It is hard to learn things if it is going too fast. I think text version is way better than the play just because it is more detailed and easy to understand and is more fun than just sitting and watching a boring play not saying I wouldn’t want to watch a play,

Comparing Text - GC

Is it better to see, rather than read the version of a play? I believe when a play is seen, we are able to feel and experience the raw emotion the characters feel, as if I'm actually a part of it too. It comes to life. What is good about the play is the ability the actor has to share fear, hunger, and love with the audience. They make you feel like you’re there with them. You understand them more because it is acted out. Seeing the environment helped me understand more, what they went through. On the other hand, reading the text gives you more detail than when it is acted out. Words aren’t done away with; you get what the writer wants you to experience. Another thing that is not used when watching the play, is your imagination, what you see, is what you get. I also find that when foreign words are used there is no translation when they are acted out, we lose some of the meaning. Watching a play may increase the feelings of emotion, but is it better to imagine it?

Is it better to read, rather than watch the play? When reading a play, I am able to take more meaning out of it and make my own interpretations. What is good about the text of the play is that I get to use my own imagination. I can see, hear, and feel what I want while I am reading it. Reading allows me to better understand characters. It lets me see what they are thinking. This is something that cannot be acted out. Reading gives me the connection to the character, a play cannot, because It gives me the opportunity to express my imagination. A drawback of reading a play rather than seeing it, is that it takes longer to read it. The text of the play has no sound effects, no imagery, and no music, that’s something we don't have when we read. In using imagination, we are not able to see facial expressions and emotions. When reading a play, is our imagination better than seeing the characters emotion?

After considering play versus text, I think I'd like to see characters' emotions and be a part of what's going on rather than imagine it. I like hearing the suspenseful music and watching the smiles and tears of the actors. Yes, one might say, “reading a play comes with using your imagination and drawing your own conclusions of what the meaning was supposed to be, therefore reading may be better, than seeing a play.” I say to that, “I don’t want to think, I just want to feel.” Watching a play allows me to share someone else's point of view. The character lets me see a thought beyond my own. Imagination Is unique and helps us see our own meanings and interpretations, but sometimes one wants to see it and live it and in all its beauty.

Why the play version is better than the written version. In the play version, you can see the story come to life. It helped us understand the characters by their tone and emotion. Stage directions helped us understand the story better than the written version because we can see the story being more realistic. The drawbacks that could’ve made the play better is better “narrating”. Something that the play is missing that could’ve helped the viewer understand better is going into a little more detail. The play could not include you using your imagination because you can see what is happening. In conclusion, the play version is better than the written version because you get a more accurate representation of the story.

The advantages and disadvantages of the written version. The play version allows you to use your imagination. It helped us understand the characters with the extra details. In the story, it went into more details about the story line which helped the readers have a better understanding. The drawbacks that could've made it better are telling how the characters are feeling more often and their thoughts. Something that the written version was missing that could’ve helped the viewers understand the story better is seeing the perspective of the characters more to have a better understanding. The text couldn't include emotions which are important. In conclusion, the written version allows more imagination in the readers' minds.

The play version is better because you get to see the story come to life. You can feel the pain in emotion. We can see the character expressions. This is also better for visual learners. Other’s might say the written version is better because we can imagine but if the story is non-fiction it’s better to see it in its most realistic POV to get the best understanding. The play version visualizes what could’ve happened at the Annex as if we were there. In conclusion, the play version helps you see the story come to life and in a more realistic POV.

The advantages and disadvantages of the text and play version of Anne Frank’s diary by KM

Why the play version is the best version because to some people reading is boring but if it is in the form of a play or a cartoon it can help us visualize the scene or people may become more interested in watching it. Another reason the play is better is the characters emotions, it can help us figure out what mood the characters are in while in the text we have infer what mood or tone of voice they are using or feeling. The good thing about the play is we see the characters mood and hear their tone of voice this helped us understand the characters because we can see how they act and feel around others and their tone of voice when they are angry and the play, we can't hear their tone of voice or visually see them so we cannot tell if they are angry, sad, happy, or sarcastic in the text. Some of the drawbacks of the play were that sometimes the audience would cough or be loud and there would be some background noise. Some of the draw backs of the actual play itself is sometimes they say different words if they forget a line and what could have made it better is the way they have the stage setup, I could not tell if they were heading downstairs or upstairs in the last scene when the phone was ringing or if there even was a floor above the floor Anne Frank and everyone else was sitting in a last drawback was when characters were arguing the words would jumble up and you can't process anything. I prefer the play version because I do not like reading books in a home environment.

The text and play may have their advantages and disadvantages. This paragraph will focus on the text advantages and disadvantages. Some of the advantages of the text were the words it would go word for word in the text version, and you can imagine the way the room is setup and where they are hiding. The good thing about the text was when characters were arguing and the words on the book it would not jumble up and you can process what each person is saying. The text also helped us understand the characters by the punctuation and spelling and we could tell if Anne was writing in her journal was when she spoke to herself in the third person perspective. The text gave us advantages, the play did not and that was highlighting and memorization, because if you highlight something you better remember it and on the play you couldn’t highlight text and it is easy to write down what the characters said.

I think the play version is better because during the scene where Anne was talking to Ms. Van Daan about having any boyfriends, Anne said to Mister Van Daan and said “Sorry Mister so and so but I am a lady” I could tell if she was being sarcastic but in the text I couldn’t tell at all. Now some people may say “look at the punctuation” or “Think of how anne acts” I think for some people they dont put that much thought into it and in text like I have stated before you cannot tell the tone of voice for the people in the text which is why I think the play is better than the text.

The advantages for a text play is that if you miss a piece of information you can go back and read it or fix to the get all the information you need. The disadvantages of a text play is that you sometimes you don’t get the feeling/emotion of what the character is feeling or how they are acting in the play.

The advantages of a play is that you get to see the emotion/feeling of what the character is giving and you get to see what there doing and how they do everything in motion. The disadvantages for a play is that if you miss a piece of information you can go back and get it but you will miss even more information that is coming if you get distracted.

In act 2 at first the man was caught stealing food from the others and not sharing by the way there stuck in a little place with almost no food and one of the ladies stood up and finally said the truth of what is happening and she got mad and starting yelling. After that it seems like everything got calm and they were all waiting for someone to find them and to get out of that place where they didn’t want to be In. They were getting out of there but they started to hug each other and I think there were scared and it got dark but they found a way out. Then 3 people started to sit on the couch with suits and a girl with a dress and they started to talk and drink tea and that’s about it for the play as what I saw.

We all love a good film, but sometimes with that film, a book was the reason for it. In this essay, we will be talking about the advantages and disadvantages of the book and the play. With both helping your understanding of what it is about, and in the end, we will see which one I prefer and my reasoning. The book/play that I will be talking about with my point with be The Diary of Anne Frank.

Let’s start off with the play, when we watch something it shows you what the characters look like and you can hear their tones in their voices. It helps with visualization because you really don’t have to visualize anything, it’s there. In The Diary of Anne Frank, they good things about the play were that we really saw how they lived and how crowded and small it was, we got to see how the layout was, we got to hear their voices and see their reactions. That helps with understanding how the characters are feeling and how the actors portray the emotions of the characters. Some things that helped us to understand that the text didn’t are how they spoke. You can’t hear the book, and while they book has dictations, it is easier to hear it happen than to try and imagine it in your head. Some disadvantages are that if you don’t understand a part of the play, you can’t re-play it while you are watching it with other people. So, if you look away for a minute and then look back and realize you just missed an important part, but you can’t go back and re-watch it. If the actors didn’t portray the characters good enough, then you really might not be able to understand it if it’s all over the place. Also, with the play and book, the play tends to take things out of the book, but not use the whole book. It gets changed around and then there can end up being some misconceptions of the play and book because it wasn’t straight from the book, it was changed up and modified into what they wanted to make their play like. With films and books there are both common things that you get mixed up, and plays do tend to help people visualize and see what it was like and what it looks like.

Now we are onto the reading part. With reading the book instead of watching it, you can open your imagination more without it being blocked by what somebody interprets by it as in their own ideas. The advantages of reading the text are that your mind is more open as I said before, you give yourself a better look at what you think it means, you interpret the story as what you believe it was like. The better parts of reading the texts are being able to read the emotions, other than taking a guess at what they are to show as their emotions. Reading the text makes you more like the narrator or the main character of the reading, so it really becomes the story that you are telling in your mind. It helps you understand the characters because you put their emotions in it, you get to choose how you want it to be in your mind really and by that, I mean, when you read one that says [Rising, nervous, excited], it tells you the emotions of what is going on. Some disadvantages are the not all people have a very creative mind and come up with what's happening. It might be harder for a person to get that connection and understanding because they don’t know how to use the emotion given or they cannot visualize what they are reading. Some things that could have made it better are giving more pictures in the book, for the ones that are terrible to visualize. Seeing the faces and emotions on their faces when things happen, it defiantly helps to see it while you are visualizing for many people. When reading the text and being able to visualize your own interpretation of the text and what you are reading.

The written play is better. When I am reading the text, it is easier for me to understand the emotions of the character when they are written down. In the text, they tell you what is happening, what they are doing, how they are doing it, and what they are feeling. In a play, they show you and change their tone and expressions of oneself, watching the play is more of a guessing game especially if the people cannot act well. In the text I had more of an understanding of how everyone acted, and, in the play, I couldn’t really pay attention to it. The play shows the whole thing, and how everyone is and looks and acts as, but when you are reading it, it's easier to reread it and understand the point of it. In conclusion, when reading the text or watching the play, it is easier to get a better understanding from the text, than it is from a play that you might not be able to re-play and miss an important part as to when you are reading you can go back.

There are many advantages and pleasures to the play, but there is a downside as well. To start off, the play gives us great imagery, so we do not have to make it up in our heads. Also, we were able to see the characters' emotions and expressions allowing us to understand them better. Lastly, we can hear the tone, giving us a more entertaining experience. For the disadvantages, the play might be hard to keep up at times. In addition, the play might not include those tiny details that are in the written version. Furthermore, the play might move several years into the future, and some people might not catch on and be very confused. Those advantages and disadvantages are something you should consider before watching the play!

Like the play, the text also has its positives and negatives. Some positives are that the text shows who is speaking so there is no confusion. Secondly, the text tells us exactly what is happening. Lastly, the text can help you remember vital details that you would miss or forget in the play version. Some drawbacks are that you must imagine what they are doing since there is little to no imagery. In addition, we must imagine their emotions based on what it says in the text because, again, there is no imagery. Lastly, we cannot see their body language in the text as well. These examples should help you figure out which one you want or read or watch.

Many people might say the text offers more than the play because of the tiny details we miss in the play; well, this is why they are wrong. They play gives us imagery and true emotions that the text lacks. Also, the play has tone, that keeps us on our toes. This is why I prefer the play over the text.

Anne Frank Argumentative Piece - JM

The Anne Frank play has disadvantages and advantages when watching the play. An advantage to some may be that you can properly see and hear all of the emotions as you watch the play. Others may counter-argue and say that the actors over act in their scenes and make the play seem quite unrealistic compared to what happened in real life. The actors that act in plays can be overdramatic and overact their part, which can annoy people to some extent even though it is meant to entertain more than inform. However, the play version can give you that feeling as if you’re in the scene with them if the actors do a good job with their parts. They can give you a sense of dread, happiness, worry, embarrassment, fear, etc.

The Anne Frank written play also has its advantages and disadvantages. An advantage may be that while reading, you are better able to imagine what is happening in the story because your imagination will come up with things as you read the story. Reading the written version can also help with your fluency and learning newer words to help expand your vocabulary. A disadvantage to reading the play, though, is that you can’t hear the characters emotions from the reading. All you can really do is imagine the voices, the way they say things, and things like that. The written version could also be leaving out background noises that be making the ambience that makes the play feel more realistic.

In my opinion, reading the written version of the play is a better experience than watching it. Others may argue that the play is better because you are able to get the full experience as if you were there with the actors in that time frame. Although, this may be true for some, but I honestly don’t care for it. The actors in the play yell a lot and tend over act their part, which can make the event in general seem way less important than it’s supposed to be. The written version of the play helps you imagine the scenes a lot better because it’s more descriptive and has better stage directions so you can instead put your brain to work to help illustrate the scenes for you. Some could argue that reading is too much work and that watching the play is easier because you don’t have to do so much work. And to that, all I have to say is, preferences vary from person to person. Some may have reading disabilities that they feel like fighting against just to read a play while others may not be able to keep their attention on a show long enough to be able to watch the play all the way through without getting bored or distracted. In summary, the written play is more enjoyable for me to read and helps me better understand the event because I don’t have a long enough attention span to pay attention to the play. Others are allowed to disagree with me though.

Watching the play has many advantages and disadvantages. Some of the good things about watching the play are that when characters are talking, we can hear their tone of voice. This can be helpful because we know how the characters feel by the way they say something. This can make it easier to tell what someone is feeling not only because of their tone of voice but because we can see their emotions. Watching the play can also give a better understanding of the setting the characters are living in. Sometimes when imagining things you can get stuff wrong, so watching the play lets us get the right imagery. There are also some disadvantages to the play. The play version doesn´t have as much detail as the written version, so you might miss some things that might have been more noticeable in the text than in the play. When watching the play some might have a hard time with figuring out who is speaking when multiple characters are talking. The written version also tells what other characters are doing off to the side of a conversation. These were some of the good and bad things about the play.

The written version also has disadvantages and advantages. Some good things about the play is that it has lots of description and details that explains the setting, stage directions, their actions, and sometimes even explains the tone of a sentence. In the written you can also always go back to review if you missed something. The voice actors also give more context to the situation because you can’t see what is happening while reading. Some of the disadvantages to the written version are that the play version could tell us how they are feeling better by their body language and tone of voice. You can also feel the emotion of the characters better while watching them and you don't have to imagine them. The written version also should have included photos of the setting so some people could get a better idea of what it looked like. These were the disadvantages and advantages of the written version.

Even though both versions have bad things and good things about them, the play version is better. This is because we get to see the characters tone and body language and really understand what they are feeling in certain situations. Others might say that the written version is better because it gives more details but the play is still better because some might still get the imagery wrong, even with all of the detail that's given. The play version has more advantages to it than the written version does. Like stated before, they play makes it easier to tell what someone is feeling because of their tone of voice, emotions, and body language. It lets us get the right imagery and setting. These important details are not in the written version. All of these details are important in understanding the characters and story.

Which was better? by MV

What made the play better? Well, the play had a lot of good factors that made it easier to understand, but it also had some parts that could have been clearer to the audience. A good and useful part of the play was the fact that we could understand the feelings and emotions through the characters voice. It let us imagine what pain they felt, in the text we did not know in what tone they were saying things. We got to see the set and how small the place was, which helped us understand Annes frustration and we didn’t have to visualize as much. On the other hand, there was a lot of confusion about which character was talking about, but in the text, it gave the names of the character who was speaking. They kept saying they needed to be quiet because anyone outside could hear them but whenever someone got mad, they would yell very loud. That part made the whole play seem unrealistic. Even though they had an audience that needed to hear them, it wasn’t that hard to hear when they were speaking normally. The background noises made it harder to understand what they meant. The play was good for a lot of people like visual learners and had good advantages, but it could have been better in some areas.

In the text there were also many good parts and also confusing parts. One of the good parts of reading the text was that the text gave more details, and we knew what was going on because it would describe everything. The text allows the audience to use their imagination more because of the descriptions of everything the characters were doing. By reading the text we could go at our own pace and re-read something if we didn’t understand, in the play they would talk really fast, and it would be harder to comprehend their words. Some of the confusing parts were when a character would feel happy or sad, it was harder to tell because of the wording choices, in the play we could see their reactions to situations come to life. The written version had less dialogue and more screen/play directions, it could have more writing to explain the characters feelings. Although the play could not have all the same elements the play had, for example expressions or emotions. The text was interesting and had a lot of details, but it could have had more focus on the characters. It definitely had advantages and disadvantages.

The play and the writing both had great factors and things it could be better on. Overall, the written verion had more advantages than the play version. For example, the written version is easier to understand and follow along with. If you didn’t understand something you can go back and read it at your own pace but in the play version the actors talk fast, and it is harder to understand with noise in the background. The written version has more details and you know what is going on or what was supposed to be going on. In conclusion, the written version has more to offer and is better on some factors.

To best get people to understand the main idea, making a movie with actors who understand what they went through and the pain they felt. While some scenes are playing, putting some real facts about Anne Frank and her family in the script. Before the credits there could be some pictures of Anne and her family, or the annex they were living in. I think they could also make it more realistic than the play, For example, the characters could be quiet when they hear a noise, they would keep their voices down, and there could be sirens in the background sometimes. Although the story is about the people in the annex, it would be good to follow Miep outside so the audience could see what it was really like out there.

MA

This is my argument that the play version is better than the writing. Some advantages of the play are you can see and hear their voices. Another example is expression and Tone these two are important because the give us emotion. These help us recognize that someone does not like this and find out their personality. Some disadvantages are Low voices, or when it gets dark you can't see, or If a mistake happens. Better introductions could help the ready out a lot. This concludes the play version.

This is my argument for the written version. One advantage of the written version is That if you mess up you can Fix it. Something good about it is that plays sometimes leave out important details. Another thing is that we use our imagination to understand what we are reading. Something good is that it relieves stress and improves memory function. A disadvantage is that we cannot see the night stars or their expressions. Something that could have been better are big words. It could not include more than one person talking at a time. This concludes this.

Others might not agree but I still think that the play version is better than the written. It’s better because it shows expressions and people talking over each other. Written versions can correct mistakes, but the play version is still better because you can see the shadows and more, also you can hear their voices. You can see expression and here tone and cannot in the written version. This concludes my argument.

DF

The play version of Anne Frank has some remarkable moments and some problems. The play has some advantages when it comes to the characters' emotions, how they sound, what they do, and when they are talking at the same time you do not have to read one by one. The Play also has some disadvantages with parts of the story because it cuts out bits that are in the text, and you can hear some background noise.

The Written version of the play has great parts and some not-so-great parts. This can be given in detail because you can imagine how the characters are reacting, you can also get more details about what the characters do in their spare time and what the area around them looks like. The not-so-great parts are the areas when you must read the arguments when characters are speaking over each other.

The Written version of the play is great, but others may think that the play is better because it lets you get a view of how the characters emotions are changing with facial reactions, body language and tone of voice. However, The Written version of the play is better because you get more details that are cut out of the play. This can be backed up because the cut-out details can let you imagine what the characters did to one character and how that character felt being around them. In conclusion the written version is better because you get more details of what the characters do and how they feel.

There are several advantages and disadvantages to watching a play instead of reading a book. While watching a play the actors can show emotions and can build a set. There are several disadvantages that also come with a play, some such disadvantages are that the actors could mispronounce words, or it could be hard to hear them, another problem could be that the lighting could be off causing the scene to be too dark resulting in it being hard to see the play. These are a few advantages and disadvantages that could be in the play.

Many people know about the advantages and disadvantages of reading a book and not watching the correlating play. Some advantages that come with reading the book are that we can visualize the setting and the characters based on the information that we were given. On the other hand, a disadvantage is that the book offers are that they can take a long time to read or that they cannot show people’s expressions.

With all these advantages and disadvantages to watching the play and reading the book it is clear to see watching the play it is better. All these advantages show that it is better because it can show the persons expressions. Both the play and the book are both very good ideas to read or watch.

The play and the written version both have its advantages and disadvantages. In the play version we the watchers can see the actors portraying Ann, her family, the Vandaan’s, and Mr. Dussel. In the written version we have to imagine what they went through.

In the play the facial expressions and the tone of their voice. That helps us, the watchers understand what they are feeling. It helps because we don’t have to imagine what they looked like but more about how that felt. A drawback is that when multiple people are talking, we don’t know what they are really saying. Something that would have helped with that is if they spoke slowly for better understanding. The play has its advantages and disadvantages, but it does depend on who watches it because some people like it but someone people don’t.

Like the play version, the written version has its advantages and disadvantages. An advantage of reading the text is we can just look back at the book if we need to unlike the play version. The written version helps us understand most of the characters' personality traits like how Ann likes to be a bit mischievous. The written version also helped us understand the situations they had to go through in the holocaust and it helps us remember most of the stuff that happened. Just the play version the written version has its drawbacks such as for people it's hard to imagine the environment/setting. What they could had done is add some photos for we the readers can have some visuals.

AN

There are many ups and downs to both the play version and the written version of this story. How do they compare which one is better? In the play version you can see how all the characters react and move to someone else. Also, it is easier to imagine what it was like during that time since we can see the background and how it looks. One downside of the play is in we miss the little details that we’re in the written version. Another disadvantage would be understanding who is speaking at certain times; for example, when Mr. Vaan Dan stole the bread, we couldn’t really tell who was talking in the play.

On the other hand, we have the written version which is much more detailed than the play and it doesn’t leave out the little details either. Next, we know who is speaking at certain times and we know what they are also saying. A downside to the written version which the play doesn’t have is needing to imagine what is going on during that part of the scene. We can infer what they are saying, but not what they are doing. Furthermore, emotion is much harder to understand in the text because we imagine it rather than see it with our own eyes.

With all the evidence here, I can say that the play version is better in many ways. First, the play is far more entertaining than the story. You get to see all the actors and the way they convey the emotions of their character. Second, it is much more entertaining than reading, it keeps the audience more intrigued than reading. Finally, it is much easier to understand what’s going on, you get to see the setting while in the reading you imagine it.

Some might say that reading is better because you can read it more if you don’t understand it the first time or imagining it can help you stay engaged. That is wrong, in the play you can still re-watch it over and over if you don’t understand what’s happening and seeing it rather than imagining is much easier and more entertaining.

The play version of Anne Frank and the written version both have upsides as well as downsides. For example, in the play version you don’t have to visualize what is happening as it is happening right in front of you. This helps the audience be able to understand how the characters feel and what exactly they are doing while they talk. Even though these are very good things, the play version does have its downsides. For example, when Mr. Van Dan stole the bread, there was a lot of commotion and arguing but we weren't able to tell who was saying what. Since it was a play they could have left out certain parts such as all of the yelling. Without the commotion and confusion the audience would be able to understand what was going on in the situation better.

As for the written version of this play, there are equally good things as there are bad. For example in the written version goes into detail better. It tells the reader every feeling they had, what they were doing, as well as their thoughts. Another upside to reading the written version is when anne is writing in her diary, when you read it you can follow along with what she is saying easier. This version helps the reader to understand the characters better by being able to show how the characters emotions are. In this version of the story the reader doesn’t have to infer what the characters feeling as you would in the playwrite. Although there were many upsides, there were some downfalls to this version of the story. For example in the written version we must visualize the characters for ourselves, unlike in the play where we are shown how the characters would look like. You also must picture their movements and body language.

For centuries people have argued whether plays or text is better. When most people think of plays, they think of long shows with lots of singing, but that is not what all plays are. Some are informative, others are describing what could have happened in the past. A good thing about the play was that you could hear the tone of voice the actors were portraying, which helps us understand emotions better. Body language is an important thing, it can help us understand someone's personality and how they feel about what they are doing. When we see Anne having fun and frolicking around, we can tell she is a free-spirited person and loves to have fun. In the text we get stage directions, but it is harder to imagine what Anne is doing. When watching a play small details can be missed. Those minute details could play a big part in what is going on. Another thing is when watching the play, we did not get as many details when people were building relationships, they missed a lot of important and key details. So, when people ask which is better, the play or the text? I would say the text.

Some advantages with the text are we get to take our time while reading. Some people work better when going slowly, if they can take their time and go back it is easiest for them. With a play you cannot go back (unless you rewind a video) and when you cannot go back you miss words, actions, and even some important scenery that needs to be seen to understand the play. Another advantage is that you get stage directions which give imagery of the stage therefore, you can see all the details, hear all the background noises, and feel what the characters are feeling just by reading the text. With the text it could have had more details about the annex to make the story a bit more detailed, I wanted to really see the small rooms that the people were crammed in. When you have text, you cannot hear the voice actors, this can be an advantage and a disadvantage. Sometimes actors can portray their voices to make things sound different than what they mean, and this can cause confusion between the text and the play. The advantage of having voice actors is you can hear what people sound like, and when you can put a voice to someone it can also give you an image of the person.

Some people may argue that the play is better than the text but that is simply not true for the many reasons I have stated above. With the text there are many more advantages than disadvantages, one of which being, more time, when we have more time to read rather than watch we can imagine the scene better; we can see all the vital details, that could have easily been missed in the play. Another advantage I mentioned is being able to imagine, when you read your imagery is broadened making things easier to Imagine in the real world. In conclusion, the text is better than the written version for many reasons.

The major Ideas of the play are to describe what has happened in the past. What people want is to share a story about what happened so something like the holocaust doesn’t happen again. Another major idea of the play is to entertain. I would love to write a story someday that has to do with the holocaust so I can inform more people, if it ever turns into a movie, I will make sure the movie would be just like the book because I don’t like it when the movie doesn’t match the book.

Hello! How are you all doing? I’m doing great if you’re wondering and I hope you are doing great as well. In this essay I will be talking about the advantages and disadvantages that a reader or viewer may have when reading or watching this play and will throw my opinion on which one is better.

To start off, let’s focus on the video version first. There are many advantages to this version that make it superior to the written one such as the ability to see the actors acting the everyday actions and events that this family had when hiding from the Nazis. This also helps us understand the characters by showing us what emotions they had which allowed us to relate to those said emotions. Thirdly, the video included the presentation of the attachments that the characters had in a much better way than the text. But with all these wonderful things there are some disadvantages. To start this off, the play did have some drawbacks such as being slightly rushed and did not convey the pace of emotions very well. It is also missing a lot of details that could help the reader understand the plot better. It could not include some details because of it being a play instead of a text. But to conclude, in this paragraph the play had many advantages to the text but also had some disadvantages.

Next up we will be talking about the text version. There are many advantages that make this version superior to the video version such as the ability to add more detail. This also helps us understand the characters emotions by giving a lot of details about said emotions. Thirdly, the text gave much more dialogue than the video. But just like the video, this version has some disadvantages. One being you not being able to see the characters which take away much emotion from the play. It was also missing some of the more structured attachments that the video version had. Really the main drawback was the lack of visuals. But that concludes this paragraph, let us move on to the next.

But the superior version of both versions is the written one. The reason for this is because it contains more detail and dialogue than the video version. Now you might say, "well the video version has visuals, so it should be easier to focus on the and retain the information.” My rebuttal to that is you don’t even need to read the entire text to get the info, you only need to read certain parts while with the video you need to watch and pay attention to the whole video. To give more explanation, as I said, it had more details and dialogue which gave the reader more info. Really the main reason this version is better is because it gives more information. But in conclusion the text version over is better than the play one.
