Your marching directors put on these camps during the summer to give students the opportunity to grow in their marching skills and musicianship as well as build stronger bonds with their peers. Attendance at these camps is highly encouraged. We can do great things when everyone participates!
Any absences from these camps need to be communicated by email to Mr. Woolard. Please do everything you can to get your student to these camps.
Monday through Thursday for 2 weeks
(scholarships available)
This camp is for incoming 7th graders, 8th graders, and Freshmen, and is led by our high school section leaders and drum majors! We take time to focus on marching fundamentals, physical fitness, and playing some fun pep band tunes!
Come to both weeks, or just come when you are able, but the more the merrier!
Be sure to have the following items for camp:
light colored, active-wear clothing
tennis/athletic shoes
personal water vessel
sun-screen
hat/sunglasses
This year, we are excited to participate in the KC Leadership Team Symposium, an event put on in the Blue Valley school district. This is required for all selected EHS Band Section Leaders and Drum Majors, and will prepare our team for the upcoming Band Camp and long marching season!
This event features two previous Phantom Regiment drum majors and a major concert band conductor in the industry! They will take students through a variety of leadership and teaching techniques and breakout into groups for more in-depth conducting and score study training for drum majors. This will also be a wonderful experience for these students to bond with each other, discuss things pertinent to our own band, and make connections with students from other schools in the area!
Check out this flyer for more detailed information on the clinicians!
Our Student Leadership Team is selected through a detailed application process followed by in person "interviews" with each applicant. Our goal is to select the students who exhibit traits of support and leadership to help build and maintain a positive, productive, and safe environment for all of our Band students.
Color Guard Camp is designed for all High School Band color guard students. It will incorporate cardio, yoga, stretches, breathing gym, marching fundamentals and basic color guard fundamentals in a safe, structured and fun environment.
Great for students interested in staying involved in band, but want to switch it up. Also a great place to bring a friend along to join the band family!
New this year: This camp is now required for ALL percussionists enrolled in Marching Band in the Fall 2025 semester, Drum Line AND Front Ensemble!!
We also do plenty of fitness and bonding activities that are specifically beneficial in preparing students for carrying those heavy drums and sweating out those summer camp days together!
This is a week of camp devoted entirely to the Marching Percussion Section. We learn warm-ups and exercises to build technique, muscle strength, and stamina for the coming marching season, as well as get a head start on the competition show music and CADENCES!
This is the most important camp of them all! We spend 5 long days digging in to the grueling details of marching skills, musical precision, and full band unity.
Any student who is not in attendance for the majority of the Full Band Camp will start the school year as an "Alternate Performer."
The students participate in daily team-building and ice-breaker activities, giving them a social group to be proud of going into a new school year. We will learn the music for this fall's marching show and get in playing shape for the fall season. We need everyone there to put the whole show together!
Be sure to have the following items for camp:
