Meet the Coaches

Cheer Coach Tara Trear

Coach Trear is from Council Grove, Kansas where she cheered in middle school and high school. She went on to ESU and she graduated with her BSE in English Education in 2002, and Masters Degree in Building Leadership in 2009, and Curriculum & Instruction Leadership in 2014. ESU is where she started her coaching career as an assistant cheer coach in 1999 and was also the Stingers Dance Team Coach for 3 years. She has been coaching cheer for 20+ years.  She has coached college, middle school, high school, and rec cheer over the years. After graduating from ESU she went on to teach in Williamsburg, KS where she coached jr. high cheer for 1 year and then began teaching in Emporia in 2004. 

She first started coaching for EHS in 2004-2005 as the Football and Wrestling cheer coach.  In 2007, she switched to Basketball in the winter. She coached Football and Basketball until 2009 and took a brief break from coaching to get married, have a little girl, Taverly, and finish her 2nd master's degree. She then went to EMS from 2010-2012 to get the EMS Spirit Squad started.  In 2015, she returned to EHS to coach Basketball cheer and in 2016 took over Football and Basketball again. In 2018, she started a rec cheer program at Skywalkers Gymnastics and Cheer. Currently, she Head Coaches Fall and Winter cheer for Emporia High School.

She has two children.  Her son, Chase Henton (26) and daughter-in-law, Caitlin, and grandson Cayde, and a daughter, Taverly (14). 

Cheer Coach Nisreen Teichgraeber

Coach Nisreen Teichgraeber is our Wrestling and JV Basketball Coach. She is from Pittsburg, KS where she danced for her high school team.  She went to Pitt State Univ. and graduated with her BSED - Family and Consumer Science Education from Pittsburg State University in 2010

Coach Teichgraeber has been teaching for 12 years, she is in her 10th year of teaching at EHS and is currently the FACS Department Head.  She joined the EHS Cheer Coaching staff in 2018 as the Basketball Cheer Coach. She is now coaching the Winter Varsity and JV. 

Coach T has been married since 2013 to her husband, Nate.  She has one step daughter, Ava (17). 

Cheer Coach Blair Conley

Coach Conley is a Spartan Alumni cheerleader from the class of 2017.  She is recently married in July 2023 to her husband, Doyle. Blair teaches SPED at Riverside Elementary. They are expecting their first child in the summer of 2024 and she will be in her 2nd year of assistant coaching in the Fall of this 2024-2025 school year. 

Dance Coach Kaytlin "HK" Hilton-Krchnavy

Coach HK is originally from Derby, Kansas. HK spent 13 years growing up figure skating at the Wichita Ice Center. She competed in many different events and won many badges through the Artistic Figure Skating Program. In high school, HK started dancing at the Kansas Dance Academy when she was a sophomore. Coach HK's favorite dance classes when she was younger were jazz and hip-hop. HK has been teaching English at  Emporia High School since 2021. She is engaged and soon to be married to Emporia Middle School teacher and coach, Jordan Young.
