This year in math students will be mastering a variety of skills that will become the foundation of skills they will need to be a successful math student in high school. The learning will be done through notes, lab activities, guided readings, group activities, and multiple review activities. Since practice makes perfect, homework will be assigned frequently throughout the year. Quizzes will be given about once a week. And every unit will be concluded with either a test or project. The following is this year's curriculum:
Operations with Integers
Operations with Rational Numbers
Algebraic Expressions
Algebraic Equations and Inequalities
Ratios and Proportions
Percents
Probability
Statistics
Geometric Shapes and Angles

A handful of students qualified for Advance Math based on a placement test they completed at the end of the 6th Grade. Those students will have the same curriculum listed above. However, they will go at a faster pace and do the three additional units listed below.
Graphing and Writing Linear Equations
Real Numbers and The Pythagorean Theorem
Exponents and Scientific Notation
