I have been teaching K-12 Art at Linn for 3 years now and I love my students and this community! It's so fulfilling to teach all the grades, because I can witness the students' artistic growth from year to year.
Currently I live in Clyde, KS and have a 12 year old daughter, Maisie. She is a special needs child with IDD and Autism. I love her to bits and wouldn't change her for the world. I also have a lot of pets, 6 cats and a dog. I love animals and I'm definitely a pet person!
I went to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA for my Bachelors in Fine Art, and Antioch University New England for my Masters in Education. I received my Kansas Teaching License through Fort Hays University.
I have been teaching Art for many years for students of all ages, including 4 years at Preston High School in Bronx, NY. I lived in New York for 7 years before I moved to Kansas 12 years ago.
I believe that Art is a skill that can be learned at any age. I encourage my students to experiment and try different media while teaching them techniques for mastery and Art History for understanding. I also love taking my students on field trips to see works of art in person and visit artist studios.
Currently along with teaching Art at Linn, I teach Yoga, including a free Chair Yoga class at the Clyde Senior Center.
