Back to School Parent Note

Dear Parents,

I am very excited to be the 7th grade Math and Title 1 teacher here at Linn Public Schools. I have a classroom Facebook page, Mrs. Beier’s 7^th Math, that I invite you to like for class updates.

I love math and look forward to watching your child grow in my classroom. We will do some sort of assignment daily. Your child will write their assignment in their planner. Sometimes your child will have homework that will need to be finished and turned in the next school day. I do not accept late work. I will be available to help students in the morning before school if they need help on an assignment. All assignments need to be finished before math class begins.

On the first day of school your child will get a copy of my classroom rules and procedures. Their first assignment will be to take it home for you to read and sign.

I want to make you aware of my cell phone policy. Cell phones are not allowed in my classroom. I have found them to be distracting during class and an avenue that allows students easy access to sources for cheating. I will take phones brought into my classroom. I will give them back to the student unless it becomes a repeat problem then I will leave the phone in the office for you the parent to pick up.
