I believe that all children have the ability to learn. Not all learning happens in the same way or at the same
pace; teachers need to be mindful of this. A successful teacher is aware of diverse learning styles. All
children deserve an equitable opportunity at education.
My goal as a teacher is to put children first. All of the decisions that I make revolve around doing what is in
the best interest of the students. Students are entitled to access high quality, rigorous instruction that follows
district curriculum. I plan for and provide differentiated instruction for the students in my classroom, as well
as provide supplemental instruction for those who need an intervention (RTI). I foster a growth-mindset
through authentic learning opportunities.
I believe that a successful teacher is one who not only teaches the Common Core State Standards, but
shows the students passion and enthusiasm for learning, along with caring about each student as a person
and focusing on the whole child. Teachers should engage the children’s minds and hearts.
My goal is to share my passion for learning with my students. I have made the commitment to myself and
my students to keep updated of current best practices through ongoing graduate education and continuing
professional development. I hope to continue to have students that are as excited to come to school each
day as I am.
I believe that students need a safe, inviting, organized classroom that is conducive to learning. The
classroom should be an environment that is respectful.
My goal is to create an environment that has consistent, predictable routines and procedures in place.
Mutual respect, kindness, and compassion are the core of our classroom. By modeling respect for my
students and colleagues, as well as setting high expectations for student behavior, I hope to create a positive and safe
classroom climate.
I believe that parents, teachers, and administrators need to work together as a team to accomplish what is
best for the well-being of each child.
My goal as an educator is to guide students, teach them to persevere and have grit, and watch them
develop in their own way, as they grow and become lifelong learners.
