A note from Mr. Han:

Our focus this week is being responsible. For our students this means that we respect our surroundings. Responsible also means that we leave things better than we found them. I will be talking to the students a lot about how we act when there is no reward for doing the right thing. This often makes me think about the shopping cart theory. The shopping cart theory has to do with the choice between returing a shopping cart to the cart corral or leaving it in the parking spot. There is no reward for returning a shopping cart to the corral. The shopping cart theory is a measure of an individual's responsibility and character. At Galeburg Middle School we are asking our students to be of high character and to do the right thing even when it doesn't have a reward.

Tuesday, September 8th - Board of Education Meeting, at 6:00 PM at the central office

Thursday, September 10th - GMS Pep Rally - 2:55 PM GMS North Gym, Volleyball at Erie High School vs. Southeast - 5:00 PM Start, Football at Erie High School vs. Southeast - 6:00 PM Start (Start time subject to change due to heat precautions)

Friday, September 11th - School is in session
