Hello! My name is Sandeep.

I am a Senior Data Scientist at Fidelity Investments in the AI Center of Excellence group. My research explores Recommender Systems that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to learn and deliver personalized recommendations to clients to help them achieve their financial goals.

I previously worked as an Applied Scientist at Amazon AWS Lex, on Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and LLMs for Conversational AI chatbots.

I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California, where I was advised by Prof. Shrikanth Narayanan and Dr. Panayiotis Georgiou. My thesis investigated the efficacy of Probabilistic Graphical Models and Deep Learning Sequence models at understanding how humans express behaviors such as affect, empathy and depression through conversational language.

Prior to USC, I obtained my M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University and my B.Tech. from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad.
