D-clearances

Any sections marked with a D require D-clearance for a student to add, sections marked with an R are open enrollment.

LOWER DIVISION CLASSES

Math 129 and 229 are handled just like 126 and 226.  Any 100 and 200 level courses designated as "D" are listed so at Viterbi's request.  We do not restrict anybody else getting into the D sections, so they are opened to all.  Viterbi advises students to go into those sections but they also can go into the R sections, especially based on the professor and timing of the class.  So bottom line, nothing's reserved except a small number of 400 level courses, e.g., 458 and 446.

UPPER DIVISION CLASSES

Math 446 has been on D-clearance by Guillaume's request, so he can check ITP prerequisites.  But now that prereqs have changed in SIS, is this necessary?

In Fall 2023 we put 430, 432, and 458 on D-clearance only because enrollments are completely full and these are required for our Math majors.  Hopefully in the future we can run more sections and lift this D-clearance.
