About

Hi! I’m Jessica (she/her/hers). I'm a fourth year PhD student studying computational and experimental linguistics at the University of Southern California, advised by Professors Dani Byrd and Louis Goldstein. I’m from Northern Virginia (right by Washington, DC), though I now reside in Los Angeles. I have a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from William & Mary (in addition to a minor in Hispanic Studies). I currently study phonetics and Articulatory Phonology, using real-time MRI and articulatory pellet-tracking data to examine the coordination of movements of the vocal tract in time and how that coordination breaks down in motor speech disorders.
