Hi! I’m Jessica (she/her/hers). I'm a fifth year PhD student studying computational and experimental linguistics at the University of Southern California, advised by Professors Dani Byrd and Louis Goldstein. I most recently interned at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. I have a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from William & Mary (in addition to a minor in Hispanic Studies). I currently study phonetics and Articulatory Phonology, using real-time MRI and articulatory pellet-tracking data to examine the coordination of movements of the vocal tract in time and how that coordination breaks down in motor speech disorders.
