The Good Life

The Good Life Discussion Series, sponsored by the Engineering in Society (EiS) Program, is the brainchild of EiS Prof. Martha Townsend. For the past few years, selected engineering undergraduates were invited to engage in an informal discussion about engineering ethics, and this year (2024), the program was expanded to include a Ph.D. student version. During this luncheon, engineering Ph.D. students from the Hub and ENGR 502/503 courses discussed their ethical responsibilities and concerns as researchers, scholars, and citizens of the world. They also made important connections across engineering disciplines and enjoyed a delicious lunch! Thank you to Prof. Townsend of EiS for expanding the Good Life Discussion Series to include Ph.D. students this semester ! And thank you to computer science Ph.D. student Emily Nguyen and philosophy Ph.D. student Andrew Nguyen for guiding the discussion!
