Academic Poster Presentations
EIS 103 students apply library research skills to present their findings on information literacy to colleagues, librarians, and professors via an academic poster session. Students have presented on topics such as the efficacy of various content moderation approaches to address misinformation, why users share misinformation, and how algorithmic design can influence the spread of misinformation.
Group Digital Literacy Project
In this group project, EIS 103 students create, design, and share a public service announcement about online misinformation and information literacy; students then disseminate their work on platforms like reddit, Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube. Click on the images to view some examples!

As a global online encyclopedia, Wikipedia is an important source of reliable information and also acts as a database for other digital tools like search, voice assistants, and large language models. EIS 103 students learn about how Wikipedia mitigates misinformation, and they even contribute to Wikipedia!
