Grad Students

Rucha Wani

Rucha is a first year PhD student in the Berelson Lab! She received a Bachelor's in Marine Science at the University of Delaware. Before starting at USC, she studied patterns of anthropogenic acidification in the open ocean. At USC, she is currently looking at the calcium carbonate cycle and hydrography around the Cocos Ridge. She hopes to further our ability to understand and detect changes in the inorganic carbonate cycle of the water column.

Matthew Quinan

Matt is a first year PhD student in Earth Sciences. He studied geology as an undergraduate at Colgate University and received a Master's degree in Marine Science and Oceanography from Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at FAU before coming to USC.  Here, he will be researching the dissolution of carbonate and silicate minerals in marine sediment to determine how they affect Earth's climate.
