Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to disrupt science by unlocking new approaches that enable scientific advances with far-reaching societal consequences. In addition, challenges unique to scientific problems also offer an opportunity to advance AI, leading to a virtuous cycle of fundamental AI research driving scientific discovery, and use-inspired challenges in scientific problems advancing the frontiers of AI. In this special day at KDD 2025, we will host a series of talks (1:00pm - 5:00pm Room 716B) by distinguished researchers on AI for science and a plenary panel (8:45am - 10:15am Room 718B) on the challenges and opportunities when developing novel AI solutions for science discovery.
