On September 14, USBG Nashville brought the hospitality community together for the first Shift Change - a day built around Circle Back, five small hosted conversations, food, music, and time together outside of a shift.
More than 60 registrations brought bartenders, operators, brands, distributors and community partners into the day, while five Lean-In tables gave people the chance to sit directly with some of Nashville hospitality's most respected voices.
The first Shift Change also gave Circle Back its largest platform to date and showed us something worth building on: small rooms and real conversations still matter.

The Lean-In tables were the center of Shift Change.
No panels. No presentations. Each host sat down with a small group around one question and let the conversation go where it needed to go.
Rob Floyd hosted Still Got the Side Piece, a conversation about building a hospitality career that gives something back instead of simply demanding more.
Nearly 30 minutes after the other Lean-In conversations had wrapped, Rob and his table were still talking - a pretty good measure of how much there was left to say.
That format will remain at the heart of Shift Change.
Brands need bars. Bars need brands. Arnold wants to get into whether the relationship still works for both sides.
Some places build a following that lasts while others never quite get there. Julia's table was the first to fill.
Getting people to leave the couch isn't as easy as it used to be. Chris digs into what actually earns our attention now.
Hospitality careers don't always follow the old ladder anymore. Lex is looking at what the next version can look like.
