The goal of the NanoAnSys project will be accomplished by:
(1) designing and developing the fluorescent pH-sensitive nanosystem as a carrier for anthocyanins (AnSys);
(2) obtaining a physico-chemical characterization of AnSys, entrapment and release efficiency of anthocyanins
(3) demonstrating its utility by imaging the pH-dependent molecular processes in cells by microscopy.
Short Scientific Report of the Project
The execution of project was carried out according to the implementation plan of the project NanoAnSys, PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2019-1276, TE80/01.09.2020, thus fulfilling all scientific objectives and successfully achieving the performance indicators corresponding to this stage. The aim of the project NanoAnSys was to obtain a system of nano (nm) dimensions, anthocyanin carrier (AnSys), fluorescent and sensitive to pH variation intracellular. Among the objectives set, the following have been achieved: (i) the design and development of the anthocyanin transport nanosystem; (ii) functionalization and physico-chemical characterization of the nanosystem; (iii) efficient encapsulation and release of anthocyanins from the nanosystem; (iv) evaluation of the cytotoxicity of free anthocyanins and the nanosystem on melanoma cells; (v) intracellular monitoring of AnSys (internalisation, localisation, controlled release). The performance indicators achieved based on the data obtained and reported for stage 2 are: 2 Articles (ISI indexed, with IF = 4.072 and 4.411), 8 Conferences (2 oral presentations / 6 posters), 1 Master's Thesis, 1 PhD Thesis.
