Ivan Shearer Moot

About the Ivan Shearer Moot.

Professor Ivan Shearer AM, a long-standing supporter of the UniSA School of Law, sadly passed away in July 2019 and will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and passion for teaching.

The UniSA’s Law Faculty owes an outstanding great debt of gratitude to Professor Shearer. In his honour, the UniSA Law Students’ Association will hold a mooting competition that focuses on public and international law.

Professor Shearer was a strong supporter of competitive mooting and was pivotal in UniSA teams' success competing in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot during his tenure.

The Ivan Shearer Memorial Moot is our latest competition and is aimed towards our senior students. First-year students are eligible to complete, however, in doing so will be unable to compete in the Novice Moot (held later in the year in Study Period 5).

The Ivan Shearer Memorial Moot will be held in Study Period 2. If you are a confident student and a quick learner, we would encourage you to compete in this moot.
