Welcome to Second Grade at Union Ridge!

Second grade is an exciting year filled with reading, writing, problem solving, and most importantly making new friends. In second grade we build on the foundational skills taught in first grade and our goal is to prepare students to become independent learners as they exit second grade.

Our classroom culture holds all students to a high expectation of values and respect. We value and respect our classmates' contributions and embrace a growth mindset.  Second grade is an important grade for personal growth and continuing to develop empathy and respect for others. This is accomplished through our SEL program, Second Step.

Our second grade team uses Class Dojo as a  main form communication.  Be sure to check it for updates and pictures and messages from the teacher. Class Dojo translates  to  many langauges and  is a great way to stay  in touch.
