Meet the

Intervention Team

Carrie Haller

I am the MTSS Coordinator, Reading Specialist and Gifted Teacher at Union Ridge. This is my 22nd year teaching, I have been a Reading Specialist for 23 years. Before working at Union Ridge I was a middle and high school English teacher. I have a master's degree in Linguistics, and am endorsed to teach English as a Second Language and Gifted Education. I love teaching reading, it is my passion. When I'm not at school, I love to travel and explore new countries, cultures, languages, and foods!

Caitlin Schoenhofen

I am a reading interventionist for kindergarten through second grade. This is my 11th year teaching at Union Ridge! Prior to being an interventionist, I was a  Kindergarten and preschool classroom teacher. I have a strong background in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. When I am not at URS I love spending time with my family. My 3 young children keep me busy! I am so excited to help your children learn and grow this school year.

Diane Kubiniec

My name is Ms. Kubiniec. I have taught at Union Ridge for forty-five years. I was a Special Education teacher in grades 2-8 and a regular classroom teacher in grades K-2. I am also a Reading Specialist. After retiring in 2018, I decided to continue to help children as an Interventionist. I enjoy traveling as well as making children and plants grow. I am looking forward to working with students in grades K-2 this year.

Domenica Iannotti

I am a former URS elementary teacher.  I decided to take a break and stay home with my children while they were young.  I am back this year at Union Ridge as the Math Interventionist for grades 1 thru 5. Besides taking care of my children, throughout my time away from URS, I have subbed in Schaumburg, tutored math through a company called Wondermath, and privately tutored on the side as well.

I love teaching math at the elementary level.  I am a dedicated, motivated, resourceful, and goal-driven professional with a commitment to the social and academic growth of each child.  I look forward to helping each child become successful and help to boost their confidence while doing so.

Peggy Schoenfus

Hi. My name is Mrs. Schoenfuhs. That’s pronounced ‘Schoen’ rhymes with ‘rain’ and ‘fuhs’ rhymes with ‘moose.’ I retired from Union Ridge in 2015 but wasn’t ready to be fully out of education. (I may have even had some of you in my 1 st , 2 nd , or 3 rd grade classroom.) Fortunately, Union Ridge has part time opportunities which allowed me to keep in touch with what I love: teaching. For the last 9 years I have worked here as an interventionist helping children in grades 3-5 with math and reading. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, my church family, and traveling. I look forward to working with your children.
