College History
The College of Computer Studies can be trace way back in 1998 as a component of Rizal State College Annex, Binangonan. It is notable in providing advanced instruction in economics and computer engineering to Rizalenos. It started its operation under the name of Institute of Cooperative Economics Management (ICEM) with two different programs, namely BS in Computer Engineering and BS Economic Management headed by Engr.Allan P. Anorico as the Program Head. A year after, it was named as Institute of Computer Science and Information Management (ICSIM) offering two programs, the BS Computer Engineering and Associate in Computer Technology.
In year 2002, the Institute offered new courses, the Bachelor of Science in Information Management and a two-year course named as Computer Education Development Program. The progressions of the Institute continue when the newly appointed head Engr Aileen P Martizano started to offer Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Technology.
In year 2007 , ICSIM was converted into a college under its new name, College of Information Technology Management (CITM) with Engr. Eloisa P Anorico as its first Dean. At the time of its conversion, CITM started to offer Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM) and Computer System Technology (CST).
Engr Anorico was followed by Engr Manuel Beronilla III in 2009 and in early 2010 a new direction was set for the College when Prof. Joselito Dacumos became the Dean, who took new edge in BSIM and CST courses. He was succeeded by Prof Mary Grace P San Juan the next year as Officer-In-Charge. The College name was changed into College of Information Technology in the mid-year of 2013 under San Juan’s supervision.The latter’s administration opened up a significant highlight in the academe where the College of Computer Studies was born offering a courses program , the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Information System and Computer Science Technology. It was on the second half of 2013 when CIT ends up to the present name, the College of Computer Studies, following its mandate to provide excellence in Information Technology Education.
Later in 2018, Professor San Juan was succeeded by Prof Owen T Escuadra who continue the program of the College. A year and a half later, the newly appointed Dean of CCS was succeeded by Prof Joy SG Cruz
