KOALA

This is a KOALA

Koalas are marsupial mammals.

They live in Australia.

They are grey colour.

They eat eucalyptus leaves ,so they are hervivorus animals.

They eat at night and sleep 18 hours a day.

They have got a funny nose and a round body.

BEAVERS

Beavers live in Europe and North America.

They are rodents.

They have got long sharp front teeth and a flat tail.

They are small animals.

Beavers are aquatic animals. They live in water

They are herbivores, they eat plants and branches.


LION

· This is a Lion.

· Lion is a mammal.

· It lives in the savannah. It lives in Africa.

· This animal is yellow and brown. This animal is very strong.

· The lion has got four legs , a long tail and a mane.

· It eats meat so it is a carnivorous animal.

· This animal can run very fast.

BISONS

These animals are bisons.They are mammals.

Bisons live in the American prairies.

They are big animals.

They are very strong .

They are brown.

Bisons have a big body and a big head with two horns. .

They eat grass so they are herbivore animals.

PANDA BEAR

  • They have very small eyes and small ears too.

  • Pandas can climb trees and swim.

WHALE

  • It travels a lot during the year.

  • It eats plankton and small fish.

  • It has got a hole on the back to breath.

  • A whale can live for more than 200 hundred years

SHARKS

  • Sharks are ANCIENT animals. They are very big fishes.

  • They eat other animals, so they are carnivorous.

  • They eat seals, sea lions , tuna.......

  • They live in all the oceans. Most of them live in the coasts of Australia, Japan, and America .

  • They don´t have bones but they have a lot of very sharp teeth.

  • They can live until 25 years.

  • They can detected blood until 4 kilometres far away.

  • The white shark is the most famous shark.

COBRA

  • This is a cobra.

  • Cobras are reptiles. They are poisonous snakes. They are very long.

  • They live in Africa and Asia.

  • Cobras are different colors. They can be brown, black , green and yellow .

  • They haven´t got legs but they can move very fast.

  • They eat small vertebrates, so they are carnivorous.

  • The King Cobra can reach 5,5 metres long.

PARROT


  • This is a parrot.

  • Parrots are birds.

  • Parrots live in tropical places.

  • They are brilliantly coloured.

  • They have long and colourful feathers .

  • They have hooked beaks.

  • They eat nuts and seeds.

  • They can speak some words.


FROG

  • This is a frog.

  • A frog is an amphibian animal

  • Most frogs are brown, green or grey.

  • Frogs live on land and in fresh water. They die in salt water.

  • Frogs live on every continent but they do not live in the Antartic continent.

  • A frog has got four legs and a long tongue to catch the insects.

  • A frog eats insects, crickets, grasshoppers, worms…….

  • A frog can jump and it can change color to camouflate.


DOGS

  • These are dogs. Dogs are mammals.

  • Dogs are very clever. They also are very affective animals

  • Dogs live with humans as pets. They live at home.

  • They usually are brown, white, black and grey.

  • Dogs have a very good sense of smell.

  • Dogs have got four legs, a tail and fur coat.

  • Dogs eat meat, so they are carnivorous.

  • They can not eat chocolate.

  • They can run very fast.

CATS



  • These are cats. Cats are mammals.

  • The cat is a domestic animal.

  • Cats are usually brown, grey, black , white and mixed coloured.

  • The cat is a hunter. It catches small animals such as mice and rats.

  • The cat is very clean.

  • The cat has got four legs and 18 toes.

  • The cat has an excellent night visiĂłn sense. They can see at night.

  • The cat eats meat. It is a carnivorous animal.

  • Domestic cats live at home with humans. The cat lives between12-and 14 years.

  • The oldest cat was 38 years old

  • A cat can round the ears 360 degrees when it feels in danger and it can jump very high

CHEETAH

  • Cheetahs are mammals.

  • They are slim, spotted cats.

  • They have got long legs and strong claws. They are the fastest land animals .

  • They can reach speeds of over 100 kilometres per hour.

  • Cheetahs are great hunters and they eat animals.

  • These animals live in grasslands of Africa, south of the Sahara desert.

OCTOPUS

Octopuses are sea creatures

They have got soft bodies and eight legs.

Octopuses are Mollusks, this means they don´t have bones nor spines.

They can change color under water to protect themselves from another creatures.

They also spray black ink to hide when they are in risk.

Their legs are covered with suck cups. They are called suckers.

Did you know an octopus have three hearts?

Did you know they have blue blood? Have you ever tasted octopus?

STARFISH

They all live in the ocean, on the sea floor.

They have got five or more arms.

They can regenerate them if they are cut or harmed.

The arms can be very large.

They are invertebrates, but they have a kind of skeleton called endoskeleton wich takes a lot of such spines and granules.

They have not brain, but they can guide by their senses of touch and sight. They have got five sensitive eyes , one at the end of each arm.

They eat clams, oysters , snails...

There are around 1600 different species of starfishes.


CONDOR

    • Condors are birds.

    • They are very big birds.

    • Their wings are 3 meters long from tip to tip.


    • They are black and white.


    • They have excellent eyesight.


    • They live in South America.


    • They eat dead animals.



TIGER

  • Tigers live in Asia.

  • They are strong predators.

  • They are called big cats.

  • They can measure 3 metres from nose to tail.

  • They are carnivores and they eat dead animals.

  • They can eat about 18 kilos of meat a day.

  • They have strong sharp teeth, claws, muscular bodies and excellent senses.

  • Tigers are camouflaged by their stripes similar to grass.

CAMELS

  • Camels live in the deserts.

  • They are mammals .

  • They eat big plants.

  • They have humps of a fat on their backs.

  • Camels can drink 100 litres of water in a day.

  • They can go without water 17 days.

  • The Arabian camels or dromedaries have one hump. The African camels have two humps.


CHIMPANZEES

Chimpanzees, or chimps, are some of the most intelligent animals. They live in tropical rainforests and woodlands in Africa.

Chimps eat fruit, leaves and seeds, but they also like termites and ants.

They have long arms and they walk on all fours. When they are excited, they jump up and down and scream. They live in noisy groups.

Every night, they climb up a tree and make their own bed.

GORILLA

Gorillas are few nowadays; they live in the forest and mountains of Central Africa. They live in family groups. They eat their mother’s milk for the first two years. They sleep with their mothers until they are three years old.

Gorillas look fierce, but they are vegetarians.

They learn to walk at about ten months. They have big and strong arms and legs.

HIPPOPOTAMUS

Hippopotamuses or hippos are big animals. They are mammals. They have an enormous body and short legs. They have a big mouth with long sharp teeth. They are excellent swimmers and they live near rivers in Africa.

They are herbivores and eat grass. They are grey, but they turn pink when they leave the water. Baby hippos feel safe floating on their mother’s back.

RHINO


Rhinoceroses (or Rhinos) are large, heavy animals. They are mammals. They eat plants and leaves, they are herbivores.

These animals have terrible eyesight, but a very good sense of smell.

They have three giant toes on each foot. There are grey rhinos and white rhinos.

They live on open grasslands in Asia and Africa. African rhinos have two horns and Asian rhinos have one.

Sea Animals

DOLPHINS

Dolphins are mammals. They are big and strong animals. They have got strong fins and a big mouth.

They live in the sea. They can jump very high.

They eat little fish. They can communicate each other using ultra sonic sounds.

SEALS

Seals are mammals. Seals can dive to great depths in the water and stay there for up to two hours. Seals use noises to communicate. Male seals are called BULLS. Female seals are called COWS and the babies are called PUPS. They eat fish, crabs, seabirds.... They have no legs. They have four flippers. There are about 33 different kinds of seals . We can see then both in warm and cold salt-waters.

BIRDS

EAGLE

Eagles are great hunters. Their large bills are for eating not for killing. They only eat dead animals. These big birds of prey live in regions from the Arctic to the tropics. They are very strong animals, that is why have been symbols or war. They have very good eyesight; they can see small animals from far away.


OSTRICH

Ostriches are the biggest birds of all. They are often 2.5 metres tall. They live in Australia.

They can walk and run very fast, but can not fly. They can run at 65 kilometres per hour.

Male ostriches are black and white, but female ostriches are greyish-brown.

Ostriches eggs are the biggest of all bird eggs. They have a mixed diet, they eat seeds, insects, eggs, worms…

PENGUINS

Penguins are sea birds. They live in the coldest places like Antarctica, South America and Australia.

Penguins can not fly, but they can swim very well. Their waterproof feathers keep them warm. They have short legs and a large beak. They are excellent swimmers and they catch fishes to eat.
