Urban Upbound has partnered with NYC Kids RISE to support families to save for their children’s college and career dreams!
In the 2025-2026 school year, every kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-grade student enrolled in NYC public schools, including participating charter schools, is eligible to participate, regardless of their family income or immigration status.
In geographic District 30, every kindergarten through 5th-grade student in the 39 pilot schools is eligible to participate.
Participating students in 6th through 8th grade who enrolled in the program while attending one of the 39 pilot schools can still earn rewards for completing the 3 Building Blocks and the Savings Match.
Eligible students enrolled in NYC public schools, including participating charter schools, automatically receive an NYC Scholarship Account with an initial allocation of $100.
The 3 Building Blocks
Building Block 2
Open and connect your own college and savings account to earn another $25 reward.
Building Block 3
Deposit at least $5 into your college and savings account to earn an additional $25 reward.
Savings Match
Starting on your child’s first day of first grade, NYC Kids RISE will match the money that you deposit into your own college and career savings account, up to a maximum of $100.
