Meet our library mascots 

Otto, Ink, & Squirt! 

Our first library octopus was made by Mrs. Small's friend Maria. Mrs. Small named it Otto & added a book to each of its arms because it's fun to imagine reading eight books at a time.

Val library volunteer & illustrator, Justin Hovey, created & donated stickers with Otto's motto, "Read a-lotto!" 

Val 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Miller, donated Ink, which took her a total of 24 hours to crochet! Otto & Ink became pals & their motto changed to "Read a-lotto & think!" 

A little purple octopus was gifted to Mrs. Small by Val student, Rowan A., who proclaimed it Otto's brother, Squirt. 

Our students & staff enjoy these mascots as shown by their many creations, which all adds to our school's "Library Joy!"
