CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS
OF AN ASB CLUB
CONSTITUTION OF THE DRAMA CLUB OF CURTIS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Preamble
We, the students, for the promotion of good government, good sportsmanship, student activities, and the general welfare of the students of Curtis Senior High School, establish this Constitution of the Drama Club.
Article 1. Name of Organization
Section A. It is resolved that the name of this organization shall be the Drama Club of Curtis Senior High School.
Article 2. Purpose
The purposes of this organization shall be to:

To create a welcoming and equitable learning environment for students of all levels to grow their interest in theatrical arts, specifically creating a staged theatrical production.
To achieve an understanding and enjoyment of being an actor, performance skills, vocal technique, technical theatre aspects, and theater appreciation through rehearsal and performance.
The club will participate in a musical, a play, Senior Directed One Acts, and other events.
Article 3. Membership
Section A. Membership in Drama Club is established by participation in one of the above mentioned events.
Article 4. Duties
Officers in the club will consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Communications Officer.
Officers will be nominated and then elected using a majority voting system.
The role of the President is to assist the director, lead the group in the director’s absence, lead warm-ups, and mobilize the group before performances.
The role of the Vice-President is to assist and assume the role of President in their absence, as well as coordinate publicity before events.
The role of the Secretary is to record the planning and execution of activities.
The role of the Communications officer is to coordinate drama online communications with Google Classroom, distribute audio or video examples, manage the Drama Club Instagram account, assist with Parentsquare Communications, and assist with promotions or advertising.
Article 5. Eligibility
Section A. Eligibility of Drama Club All club members must maintain a level of 5 out of 6 passing. Grades will be collected at the 1st Quarter, End of the 1st Semester and 3rd Quarter.
Section B. Requirements for all Drama Club Members during their period of service shall be required to:
Participation in one or more events held throughout the year.
Assist with promotion of Drama Club Events and Performances.
Article 6. International Thespian Society
The International Thespian Society (ITS) organization will be under the umbrella of Drama Club. Students have the opportunity to participate in ITS, but are not required to as part of the Drama Club.
Article 6. Amendments
Section A. This constitution shall be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the membership provided by active membership status of Drama Club.
