Autobiography

Here is a look at what I am currently doing...

About what I do...

My name is Cristian Rosario, and as of June 2021 I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus and acquired a BA in English. I am 27 years old, and I currently work for Hartford Public Schools at Hartford Public High School in Connecticut where there is a variety of Multi-lingual students who speak different languages such as: Turkish, French, Swahili, Spanish, Portuguese and English, and dialects like Q'anjob' al. Within this multi-cultural community of HPS I serve as TESOL teacher for Multi-lingual Learners within 9-12 grade. I recently arrived from Puerto Rico after being recruited by the HPS's Paso a Paso Recruitment Program. I am proud to be Puerto Rican and part of the Latino demographic who serves HPS and my future aspirations are: to create more opportunities for MLs both within academia and life, and to learn more languages as well as aspects of different cultures in order to better address the needs of our community.

The Paso a Paso Recruitment Program

The Paso a Paso Puerto Rico Recruitment Program gave me the opportunity to transition over from Puerto Rico to Hartford. It also allowed me to expand my horizons by becoming part of a multi-cultural community that embraces diversity.  It also enabled me to make connections with Dominican Republic teachers via the Caribbean Connection Program.

Model UN

I joined the HPHS's Model UN Club in September 2022 as Student Advisor. The Model UN Club has allowed me to help ML students transmit their voice and opinion about global affairs and ways on how to solve the issues we are currently facing worldwide.
