Fellowships/Scholarships
Academic Year Stipend (August - May):
Doctoral $1,700 per month
Master's $1,200 per month
Bachelor's $800 per month
Tuition Assistance:
$1,500 for Doctoral and Master's Students (per semester)
Travels and Materials are available by request, subject to availability
REQUIREMENTS
U.S. citizenship (evidence will be required if selected)
Enrolled in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) undergraduate or graduate program in Puerto Rico
A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Academic progress according to schedule
Research plan (3-5 pages) signed by the applicant and research advisor
Curriculum Vitae (1-2 pages) including peer-reviewed publications, proceedings, and presentations in local, national, and international conferences
Two letters of recommendation (one from the research advisor/mentor)*
* The letters of recommendation should be uploaded by the professor to the Submittable platform; you must provide their emails.

The Research Plan must contain the following parts:

Relevance to NASA according to the NASA Technology Taxonomy
Collaboration(s) with NASA Center(s) and NASA Mission Directorate(s)
Milestones and Timeline for the academic year

What must be included:
List of presentations (oral and poster)
List of publications, patents, etc.
Research experiences and your role in it.
LETTER OF COLLABORATION WITH NASA
The NASA collaboration letter is an important part of the application, although not having one does not completely exclude you.
SOME OF THE COMMITMENTS
Maintain satisfactory academic (> 3.0 GPA) and research progress.
Follow the Research Plan submitted with the application.
Follow all the laboratory safety guidelines and regulations applicable to my research.
Follow the rules and regulations for ethics in research.
Submit research progress reports (Dec and May).
Apply to the NASA internship program (http://intern.nasa.gov/).
Update contact information as needed, during and after the fellowship period.
Create an account in USAJOBS (https://usajobs.gov/).
Acknowledge the program using its number in presentations, manuscripts, and reports.
