Students arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time.
They are to bring their own laptop if they have one.
Those who do not will be provided with one.
A 'common assessment activity' (CAA) means a test developed and marked by NZQA
The assessment is designed to be completed in 60 minutes by most students. You cannot leave before 45 minutes.
Digital Assessment: the CAA will be delivered in an online format
You must complete your assessment individually under supervision of a teacher
You are not allowed access to any other resources

Headphones (for Literacy Writing Only if you are using the text-to-speech functionality)
Blue or Black Pens (paper for notes will be given to you if needed)
Emergency Pack (phone that is turned off / bus card etc in a clear plastic bag under your desk)

Go to the student portal and find your National Student Number (NSN)
Go to www.nzqa.govt.nz
Go to the yellow button"login" in the top left
Go to "learner login" section and create an account
NOTE: you will need to record your information as you will need it for the assessment. Many students use their school password so they don't have to remember another password.

set up NZQA student login and remember your login details – you’ll use these to access the digital assessment platform.
Students can use text-to-speech assistive technology (Polly) in the 32405 Literacy Writing and 32406 Numeracy digital assessments in 2024.
Polly is a text-to-speech tool. It's built into the digital assessment platform that students use to complete assessments.
Polly is available to all students, provided they use headphones.
