Our SkillsUSA study group meets every Tuesday after school in Canalside to learn SkillsUSA knowledge, employability, and OSHA. Also check-out the cafeteria screen at lunch time for some practice questions!

UPCOMING EVENTS
Julian Christopher, environmental science; Devyn Godbout, environmental science; and Fiona Liptak, plumbing & heating have qualified to compete at the national competition in Atlanta, GA. They will be competing at the national level with a scrapbook component and professional presentation showcasing the promotion of good health and safety habits in local shops, laboratories, and businesses.
PAST EVENTS
The 2025 State Competition took place from May 1 - May 3 in Marlboro, MA and at Blackstone Valley Regional Technical School in Upton, MA. Upper Cape Tech had 43 students attend and 11 students brought home medals. Congratulations to all our state competitors and medalists!
Make sure you take part in the 2025 SkillsUSA week leading up to the district competition. Decorate your dress and dress appropriate to show your spirit!
The 2025 District Competition was held on February 28. 17 students medaled in the District Competition and 19 students qualified to compete at the State Competition.
12 students represented UCT at the 2024 Fall State Leadership Conference in Marlboro, MA on November 24-25. Three students completed a community service project where they made bicycles for students at the local Boys and Girls Club. The remaining students developed their leadership skills and learned about the SkillsUSA organization. 11 Students received their leader award certificate at the conference and UCT won 6 medals:

We sent six Culinary Arts students to the 2024 MRE challenge on October 29, 2024. These students were given five or six MRE's and created a drink, appetizer, entrée, and dessert using only the MRE's.
On November 9, 2024 the UCT Chapter of SkillsUSA attended the Veteran's Day Flag Placement event at Joint Base Cape Cod with students from South Shore Regional Vocational Technical School.
Five students represented UCT at the 2024 National SkillsUSA competition held in Atlanta, Georgia. Senior Maeve West competed in Baking and Pastry Arts, and senior Lucas Sherman competed in Plumbing. Sophomores Julian Christopher, Ella Eisan, and Emma Pacheco teamed up to compete in the Occupational Health and Safety Competition - Multiple Chapter. Maeve placed 6th overall, Lucas placed 7th overall, and the OHAS Team placed 6th overall!
44 students represented UCT at the State Competition held in April 2024. UCT students earned 7 total medals in Baking and Pastry Arts, Plumbing, Occupational Health & Safety - Multiple (Gold); Occupational Health & Safety - Single (Silver); Entreprenuership, Non-traditional Career Portfolio, and Urban Search & Rescue (Bronze).
Three culinary students raised $4,000 for Cape Kids Meals as part of their SkillsUSA project.
Three environmental students showcase their OSHA portfolio created over the past year.
Over 100 students took part in the District 1 competition on March 1. UCT students received 17 total medals and 11 students qualified for the state competition.
Culinary Arts team McKenzie, Neveah, and Meadow took home two medals in creativity and presentation.
9 students represented UCT at the 2023 FSLC. The students also completed a community service project.
