***NOTE: Video tutorial on drafting you program checklist and POS is available at the end of this information!
Attach your updated plan of study and program checklist to your email request for academic advising to the Program Chair (bes@upou.edu.ph). Please regularly check the Schedule of Course Offerings page for updates on which courses are tentatively available in each term as well as course prerequisites to be aware of the courses that you need to take first before making your plan of study. Templates for the Plan of Study and Program Checklist can be found at the Attachments section under the navigation menu.
Filling out the Program Checklist:
In filling out information on GE courses taken:
identify (a) the elective GE courses and (b) the common courses that you have taken in the space provided under the Course column of the Elective GE Courses portion and the Common Courses portion respectively.
In the space provided for Remarks in checklists for both old and new curricula, write either:
(a) the trimester and year in which the course was completed in UPOU, or
(b) the semester and year in which the course was completed from other UP units by cross-registration, or
(c) write "TOC" if the course has been satisfied through an approved transfer of credits.
Write the numerical grade, EXT (extension), or DRP (dropped) on the space provided for the grades. If the final grade is not yet posted on the portal, write AFG (awaiting final grade) on the space provided for the grades.
Plotting your Plan of Study:
In drafting your plan of study, check the Schedule of Course Offerings for the courses available each term.
Indicate the courses that you intend to take under the column of the term which you plan to enroll the courses. Make sure that you prioritize prerequisite courses (See the BES Curriculum for the prerequisites).
(a) EDS 100, EDS 101, EDS 102, EDS 103, EDS 106, and EDS 107 are expected to be taken within the first year of study in the program.
(b) EDS 112 and EDS 113 should be taken after completion of the courses in (a) and before the majority of the other BES major courses could be taken (See the BES Curriculum for these courses).
Remember to check the schedule of course offerings every term as they may change without prior notice. If departures from your plan of study occurs for any reason (e.g. change in the schedule of course offerings, inability to complete the enrolled courses, leave of absence, etc.) update your plan of study accordingly and seek academic advising prior to enrollment in the subsequent term.
