Dr. Firdaus holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph, Canada.  He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Land Management, Faculty of Agriculture UPM. His research interests include:

• agricultural greenhouse gas emission and mitigation

• carbon sequestration in agricultural systems

• soil nutrient cycling and management

• sustainable agriculture

Ahmad Nazri was formerly the Agriculture Officer for the District of Klang before he was granted study leave to pursue his Master of Science. He has over 20 years of experience with the Department of Agriculture Malaysia, where most of his career was attached to the soil survey unit. He is currently working on pelletizing biochar for soil carbon sequestration. He holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from UPM.

Wei Yan is excited about being a PhD student at Dr Firdaus’s lab. She’s passionate about soil science, nature and food. She’s hopeful that a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to research will help improve and adapt our local and global food systems in the lens of anthropogenic climate change. She holds a BSc in Plant and Soil Sciences from University of British Columbia, Canada.

Azleen is a PhD student working on the TRAILS project. She holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from UPM.

Ku is an Assistant Science Officer. He is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the LECO Trumac CNS Analyzer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UiTM.

Suanita is an Assistant Science Officer. She is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the PinAAcle 500 Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometer. She holds a Master of Plantation Management from UiTM.

Ardelia is a Research Assistant assisting in the processing and extraction of soil and tissue samples for elemental analyses. She holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from UPM.
